Since most coins were considered a "weak strike" at the Mint, they're extremely rarer when all the Liberty Bell lines on the reverse are visible and unbroken. A 1953-S with full bell lines may be valuable. In 2024, one sold for $66,000.

The Mint packing leaves tiny lines and markings on several 1955 Franklin half dollar proofs. One in perfect condition with fine details and few marks is unusual. One sold for $43,200 in 2021.
