After two seasons that looked very good but turned out to be a complete disaster for the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers and the team didn't end their friendship on the best of terms.
After missing all but four snaps in 2023 because of an Achilles injury, the veteran QB came back for the 2024 season. Before the season, the Jets were seen as a title contender, but they fell far short of all predictions.
Rodgers only won five games with the Jets, even though his friend Nathaniel Hackett was offensive coordinator and Davante Adams had been his top target since Week 7.
Because of poor performance, the AFC East team let go of the four-time NFL MVP.
In his most recent interview on "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers said that the Jets' new coach, Aaron Glenn, was wrong to make him fly across the country to tell him that he wasn't wanted by the team going forward.
"I figured that when I flew across the country on my own dime, that there was gonna be a conversation," Rodgers said.
Glenn told the former Super Bowl winner, "We're going in a different direction at quarterback."
Glenn replied to those statements during the 2025 NFL Draft. The former defensive leader for the Detroit Lions gave Rodgers a direct answer, which took the attention off of the veteran quarterback and put it on their brand-new player.
Rodgers is still a free agent and won't sign with a team because of personal reasons. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been tied to him a lot. They lost Russell Wilson to the New York Giants and Justin Fields to the New York Jets.
